Someone lands on a nonprofit's site because they are deciding whether to trust it. A potential donor, a partner organisation, a community member checking whether the programmes are real.

That visitor has one question and very little patience: what does this organisation actually do. Every second of load time and every scroll spent on animation is a second not spent answering it. Nonprofit sites fail this in a predictable way, by treating the homepage as a place to impress rather than a place to inform, and burying the programme details three clicks deep behind a hero carousel.

The temptation on a build like this is to reach for the heavy stack because it is familiar. But the site's job is communication, not interactivity, and a bundle sized for an application is a cost the visitor pays for capability the site never uses.
